Dr. Asif Serajian
Asif Serajian, DO is a fellowship-trained, board-certified interventional cardiologist. He is a patient care advocate who is committed to using the latest scientific research and newest procedural techniques in the care of his patients. He also believes that good communication with the patient and other healthcare providers will lead to better healthcare outcomes.
Furthermore, Dr. Serajian has published several articles in the Journal of Invasive Cardiology and other peer reviewed journals describing new cardiovascular techniques and is an Editor for the Vascular Disease Management Journal as well as the Journal of Invasive Cardiology. Dr. Serajian grew up in Kentucky and attended Transylvania University in Lexington, KY for his undergraduate training. He received a degree in biology there but also had interests in philosophy and physics. He then went on to get his Doctorate of Medicine from Pikeville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky. He conducted his residency training in Internal Medicine at the Medical University of Ohio. He obtained board certifications by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Serajian completed his fellowship training in Cardiology through the Michigan State University at Oakwood Health System and Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Providence St. John Hospital in Southfield, MI. During this time he received board certifications in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. He was employed and practiced in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago for 3 years until he decided to open his own practice in Elmhurst, IL. Dr. Kamel Sadat
Dr. Sadat is a board-certified cardiologist. Prior to joining us, Dr. Sadat attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He trained in internal medicine at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital and cardiology fellowship at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He also trained at the Methodist Debakey Hospital in Houston Texas as heart failure, advanced assisted ventricle device and heart transplant specialist. At the University of Alabama at Birmingham he had additional training in advanced echocardiography.
His research interests include the integration of multi-modality cardiovascular imaging into clinical practice, with a focus on echocardiography, 3D echocardiography and speckle tracking. This includes the application of cardiovascular imaging to cardiovascular disease prevention, acute myocardial infarction, valve disease and cardiovascular disease in the elderly.
His clinical interests include the use of novel devices for assisting heart failure patients, heart transplant, non-coronary cardiac interventions such as percutaneous valve replacement.
His interests outside Heart failure cardiology include treatments for venous disease, atrial fibrillation, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
Kelly Kashani, NP
Kelly is a board certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She has an extensive history of caring for elderly individuals as a Nurse Practitioner in the post-acute rehab setting and as a Registered Nurse in the hospital setting, hospice setting, and long-term care setting. Kelly received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and her Masters degree in Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from Northern Illinois University. She trained with top-notch physicians and nurse practitioners during her education, practiced in the post-acute setting and she worked at Lutheran General Hospital and Highland Oaks as a Registered Nurse.
Kelly has always been passionate about Cardiology including the treatment of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and coronary artery disease in terms of prevention of further complications. She is well accomplished in caring for patients with congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and coronary artery disease. She also has the experience to identify and assist in modifying risk factors for heart disease in her patients to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Furthermore, she cares about implementing a holistic approach to utilize lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise in conjunction with medications. She has an ultimate goal of improving the quality of healthcare in such a way that patients feel well listened to and well cared for.
